The Lenten Series

Aside: I have a friend who is a commercial designer.  On one hand, she prides herself at being able to do different styles of graphics for her customers.  On the other hand, she suspects that she loses some clients because they can't rely on everything she does having the same style.

I feel that way about my art some times.  I want it to look like "Kate did that," but I don't see a "sameness" about the various pieces of work I do.  (Except in a series.)

This work looks different to me than other things I do, except where I have consciously "stolen" from my paintings.  I like those paintings, but it seems kind of articifial to reproduce them as part of this work.  On the other hand, it makes it look like I did it.

Hmmm.
